Have owned several R32's, 2 x monster R34's (750bhp OSG RB30 and 900+bhp Drag R) and 2 x R35's.

I skipped over the R33 as never liked the looks.

Regretted selling the R32's (I still own 2 as attached), also regretted selling both R34's as they are £150k each now BUT I never missed either of my R35's (inc Litchfield LM750R) as they are simply TOO BIG and TOO FAST to drive safely on narrow roads.

I still have a small collection of cars including my 2012 Mac 12C for driving holidays (have owned since 750 miles old) and my GR Yaris for chucking around the country lanes and B roads.

If you think of a GRY as HALF an R35 GTR (3 pot v V6) and being a good deal smaller and lighter - there you go - the perfect modern (usable!) road rocket.

Just my 2p worth.

I passed my test in 1990 and actually had 8 old Minis in a rented lock up at the time (including a 1,430cc Minivan with 12G940 tunnel port head, sleeved push rod holes as the intake ports were massive, Kent 296 scatter cam, RC40 exhaust and split 45 DCOE's on a swan neck manifold - made about 110bhp back in the day!) so petrol has always been in my veins.

Have had over 100 performance cars since with almost all of them modified so I normally have experience or a valid opinion on most manufacturers!

Noticed the nice I30N on your web page, so thought you would appreciate this!

Has taken me almost a year to get UK registered and road legal but will be using it for track days going forward.

It was built from a new car in Jan 2020 for the Spanish Touring Car series (CET category) which got cancelled after 4 rounds so the car only did 1,100km including mapping, shake down and racing!

That's incredibly cool. I loved my i30N and was in the market for a DCT fastback when the facelift was announced but it was north of £37k for a specced one that i'd lose 30% of in a couple of years easily so the GR became a very sensible choice instead.

Ditto, though I doubt I'd have had the patience or foresight to keep it. I sold my FD just as used prices went through the roof.

Another factor driving the crazy prices is the 25 year rule in the US. Once all our JDM favourites become 25 you can import them to the US as easily as we've always been able to.

New money is going to inflate all the cool Japanese stuff over the coming 7 or 8 years.

Duke

Ones that I should have kept:

Integrale Evo 1 (342bhp Abarth built engine, magnesium alloys, big AP's etc),
E30 M3 (was a special Hartge build from new) - hate to say it but a VERY slow car but pretty,
Renault 5 Turbo's,
Renault Alpine GTA Turbo,
Renault Alpine A610 (fantastic cars),
930 model 911 3.2 Carrera,
The last Porsche 928 S4 ever built,
678bhp Porsche 996 GT2 Club Sport (very lively but dangerous!!!),
Audi RS2 (company car in 90's),
Audi S2 Avant,
Audi RS4 B5 (have had 3 and still one of the best car I have ever had),
Audi RS6 C5 Avant (have had 3),
Audi RS6 C6 Avant (have had 2 and still got one running 757bhp that I have had for over 6 years),
Audi R8 4.2 V8 manual (a 2007 series 1 car which we supercharged to 630bhp),
Honda NSX manual (1990 car with 60k miles that I sold last year),
Numerous original Mini's including 1275GT's and Cooper S's,
Noble M12 3R,
Nissan R32 GTR (had 4 and still own 2),
Nissan R34 GTR (had 2 and sold my Garage Defend Drag R car last year),
Gumpert Apollo S (I owned the blue car [for 11 years] that set the TopGear lap record in 2008),

There are too many more to remember but I buy cars to drive and enjoy and some go up in value and some go down so it's swings and roundabouts.

I try to chop and change less frequently now but have a small collection of cars that serve my needs including my GR Yaris (which will be modded to circa 320-330bhp and enjoyed on my local country roads).

Hindsight would have been a wonderful thing!
