The 24k service is the same price as the 12k service but loads more stuff gets replaced. I'd be tempted to ask for a 24k service at 12k intervals otherwise the air filter on mine won't be replaced for 4 years!

Yes, that's consistent with the 24k service list updated earlier.

Can’t find this particular bit of the Toyota site, so was wondering if there’s any movement or confirmation of the “need” for six monthly inspection, irrespective of mileage? Dealer said it was under review, but that was early December.

NGK list their plugs as 60k plugs. Abarth used to change the NGK's every 20k ?

Technology has improved but often people stick to what they know.
